Ca sa ne mentinem coloana sanatoasa trebuie sa o flexam in toate directiile posibile. Coloana poate fi indoita in sase directii: inainte, inapoi, la dreata, la stanga si cu rasuciri la dreapta si la stanga.

In Hatha Yoga sunt multe asane care corecteaza deformarile coloanei si au efect benefic asupra intregului sistem nervos si al organelor, cum ar fi ale ficatului, pancreasului, intestinelor si rinichinilor.  Aportul de sange catre vertebre si catre nervii pornesc din coloana vertebrala creste la maxim si astfel are un efect de intinerire asupra intregului organism de aici si zicala “esti atat de tanara pe cat de flexibila este spatele tau”.
